The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD) is offering a reimbursement incentive, the Public Benefit Grant, to public agencies that choose low or zero-emission vehicles (like YAK’s Torsa Electric UTV) for their daily operations.
Funding Offered:

Up to $20,000 per qualifying vehicle.

Up to $100,000 in total funding per calendar year.
(Equivalent to 5 total vehicles per agency per year.)
Funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Multiple applications can be submitted yearly, provided the maximum funding threshold has not been met for the current calendar year.

WHO QUALIFIES?
To qualify for the Public Benefit Grant, the applicant must be a public agency within the SJVAPCD’s geographical boundaries. Public agencies include cities, counties, special districts, public educational institutions and all other public agencies as defined by CA Governmental Code 6252 and agencies provided for in Article IV & Article VI of the CA Constitution.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
The process can be categorized into 3 sections:
Applying:

Identify which qualifying vehicles you would like to purchase.

Request an itemized quote from the vehicle dealer.

Complete and submit an application and other specified documents to the SJVAPCD.

Receive confirmation of application from the SJVAPCD.
Executing:

Receive approval of application and funding.
-
Sign a contract with the SJVAPCD, agreeing to milestones and project completion deadlines.

Purchase the vehicles from the dealer.
Receiving Funds:

Submit a claim for payment document provided by the SJVAPCD.

Receive a check for approved funds.
